What is Foursquare?
Foursquare is a social media app that combines brief updates of what you’re doing (like Twitter) with user recommendations on restaurants, bar, retails outlets and others, (like Yelp) and tosses in a little friendly competition for most activity to make it fun.
How do I use it?
Go to the Foursquare website http://foursquare.com and download the app for your phone. Now each time you check in at a restaurant, bar or shopping place you check in and have the opportunity to have all your friends meet you there, submit your recommendations for that place, and receive extra specials just for you because you are a regular.
What is a Mayor?
The Mayor is the person who has the most activity at a place. The Mayor of Bar-B-Que Beach will be the person who is most active with checkins and interactions on the FourSquare website.
What’s in it for me?
As a Foursquare member and a regular you receive extra specials that are not available to the general public. We reward your loyalty with various perks such as free drinks, free lunch or dinner with x-number of checkins, etc.
